The research activity of the solid state physics group is mainly housed in three laboratories at the Physics Department of the University of Torino in via Pietro Giuria 1:

  • Solid state physics laboratory for the functionalization and characterization of advanced semiconductor and insulating materials and devices.
  • Superconductivity laboratory for the characterization of superconductor materials and devices.
  • Laboratory for archaeometry and diagnostics of art objects.

These laboratories are part of a network of research structures coordinated by the interdepartmental "Nanostructured Surfaces and Surface" (NIS) research center and operate in synergistic collaboration with the Torino Research Unit of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN) with the "Centro Conservazione e Restauro La Venaria Reale" and with the Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica (INRiM).
